Admit it. You love Cinco de Mayo. We all do. But we've grown beyond the years of guzzling cheap margaritas at the local Mexican dive while munching on bottomless tortillas. Fear not, you can pay tribute to the day without going down the cheap tequila rabbit hole and still make it to work on the 6th. Check out this cocktail recipe I love. (Recipe adapted slightly from www.thelittleepicurean.com)
Start by combining a tablespoon of sea salt with a tablespoon of raw sugar. Dip the rim of the glass into water then into the combination of salt and sugar and set aside. Then, complete the following steps.
1. Fill serving glass a little more than half full of ice. Pour in 2 oz of fresh grapefruit juice.
2. Add 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice
3. Add 2 teaspoons of simple syrup.
4. Add 2 oz club soda.
5. Add 2 oz tequila.
6. Stir to combine. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge and enjoy.
Happy Cinco de Mayo!
